Today’s planned re-opening of the D’Aguilar Highway to two lanes across the Blackbutt Range has been delayed.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised that due to the impact of recent wet weather on the progress of the works – and the weather outlook – it was now expected that the highway would re-open to two lanes from June 22, weather permitting.

The complete reconstruction project would be completed in late 2012 but further temporary single lane closures would be required up to this time.

The highway will return to single lane operations around-the-clock for at least six weeks in early September for bitumen and asphalt works.
