Are you an innovative red meat producer? Do you know of a restaurant that serves outstanding beef or lamb? Do you know someone who is a future leader of the red meat industry?

AgForce Queensland has announced that nominations for the 2012 Queensland Red Meat Awards are now open. The awards are designed to showcase the entire red meat industry, from paddock to plate, and acknowledge the contribution made by rural, regional and metropolitan businesses of all sizes.

AgForce event manager Wendy Allen said the awards provided the opportunity for all stakeholders within the red meat industry to come together and recognise the important role each link in the chain played.

“Every link in the supply chain plays a key role in delivering high quality red meat to consumers, so we are calling on all beef and sheep producers, processors, retailers and restaurants who are doing great work in their industry to nominate and be recognised for their contribution,” Ms Allen said.

“The industry is now, more than ever, focused on each link performing to the best of its ability in order to meet ever increasing consumer demands.

“This is our way of rewarding those who are taking on that challenge and leading the industry into the future.”

Ms Allen said all stakeholders were welcome to nominate themselves or nominate somebody else within the industry they think deserved to be recognised.
