The South Burnett Thrashers travelled to Roma on Sunday to play the Echidnas in the Downs Rugby Union B Grade competition.

Despite having some last-minute withdrawals from the squad – which meant an urgent callout to old players to make up the numbers – the side was by no means disgraced, managing to clock up 19 points against the more fancied Roma side.

They were defeated 48-19 and are still yet to record a win in the 2012 competition.

All clubs have a bye next week because of the Queen’s Jubilee long weekend.
