A highset house on Hamilton Road in South East Nanango was completely gutted by fire this morning.
Fire brigade officers manage to prevent the fire from spreading to other properties but could not save the house.
The homeowner told southburnett.com.au that he had left the property about 7:30am. A neighbour noticed flames coming from the building about 8:50am and called the fire brigade.
The cause of the blaze is unknown. Police on the scene said investigations were continuing.
