Taking advantage of all the exciting things happening at the northern end of the South Burnett at the weekend was the Lancia Club of Queensland which decided to hold its annual Winter Sun Rally in the South Burnett.

The three-day rally attracted lovers of the Italian marque from Victoria, NSW, South Australia and, of course, Queensland.

Thirteen vehicles stopped off for lunch at Clovely Estate Cellar Door at Moffatdale on Sunday to enjoy the sunshine and local wine before the optional second leg of the event, the “Giro Di Norda Seconda”.

Among the visitors was Jon Dickson, from Newcastle in NSW, who brought along his 1972 Lancia.

“It’s a good social club which holds good events,” he said.

Jon said the Lancia Club had held its Winter Sun Rally on the Gold Coast for the past couple of years, but they had enjoyed their South Burnett visit so much, they were planning on doing it again next year.
