Workplace Health and Safety investigators have been called to attend an incident at Durong where a sub-contractor is believed to have died.

A truck hit a tree about 8:45am this morning on a private property off Shellytop Road.

Firecrews and paramedics were called and police are still at the scene.

There is no further information available at this stage.

UPDATE: 4:15pm

Police have confirmed that a male driver has died in the incident.

They will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
