If anyone told you this time last year that Nanango was a chance to win the South Burnett Evolution Football League premiership you would have given them an odd look.

What a difference a year makes!

Last season Nanango could hardly get a team on the park but how times have changed.

Enter the Mangans …

Steve (“Old Man”) Mangan had a vision of a strong, competitive Nanango squad and now his vision has been realised.

The club employed Lauren Mangan as coach and has attracted many quality players from the past as well as some new ones. Kieran Mangan, Elliot Mangan and Justin Mangan, all quality players, have had a winning effect on the team.

Nanango also welcomed back Brendan Stern along with Damien and Chris Walters.

All players, particularly the above mentioned, have added a professional quality at the club that has been missing for years.

After three matches, Kieran Mangan has scored four goals, Chris Walters two, with Damien Walters and Justin Mangan scoring one apiece.

Elliott Mangan has scored two in Second Division.

Nanango now heads the completion table in both First and Second division and they look good to go on with it for the remainder of the season.

The season looks to be a tightest one in years with all teams in all divisions in with a chance.

It makes for good football and is pleasing to see.

Every match is there for the taking and we look forward to fierce competition for the remainder of the season.
