What is it with people naming things after Tingoora?
The name of our little South Burnett town – famous for its Tinny Pub – last year graced a new peanut variety released by the Peanut Company of Australia.
Now an American zoo has named a dingo pup after the town.
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo in Indiana is raising seven pure-bred dingo pups born at the zoo on January 30.
And according to Fox News, they’ve named them: Mawson, Bunyip, Elsey, Airlie, Brumby, Yengo … and Tingoora.
We’re wondering why they didn’t go up the highway a bit and name the pup after the South Burnett’s own “dingo town”, Wondai …
