Fraser Coast Tourism CEO Damien Massingham has resigned after seven years in the job.
Mr Massingham has been appointed general manager of Tourism Noosa.
Although now officially part of the Toowoomba Golden West regional tourism organisation, most South Burnett tourism operators were formerly members of the Fraser Coast RTO and some continue to have dual membership.
In contrast to a predecessor – who suggested at his farewell that tourism operators had deep pockets and short arms – Mr Massingham told the ABC that he had found South Burnett and Fraser Coast tourism operators “put their money where their mouths are”.
“There are some fantastic operators throughout both the South Burnett and Fraser Coast and tourism is such a positive industry and the operators within this tourism industry are positive people,” he told the ABC.
“They put their money where their mouth is and it’s been a true privilege for me to be able to be part of that process in this region.”
