Wondai Regional Art Gallery’s special travelling exhibition from the Australian War Memorial, “Framing Conflict”, will be accompanied by a special display from Wondai RSL this month.
The special tribute for Anzac Day in the front gallery will depict conflicts from Gallipoli through to Vietnam.
“Framing Conflict” consists of a collection of paintings and photographs by Lyndell Brown and Charles Green, (right), who toured the Middle East and Afghanistan in 2007 as the War Memorial’s official war artists. They have produced a series of highly evocative, innovative and contemporary works which depict modern warfare.
Their works record the activities and experiences of Australian troops in a way that reveals new and strange configurations of landscape, culture, and technology.
In the third gallery at Wondai this month, there’ll be the Garden Festival Art Competition “Flowers of Remembrance” to commemorate Anzac Day.
The opening night for the April exhibitions will be held on Friday April 13 from 6:00pm. Cost is $5 which includes finger food and punch. Wine will be available to purchase from Captain’s Paddock.
