Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2024 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting its annual Wondai Garden Expo Art Competition - sponsored by the Wondai Garden Expo - and all three galleries will be displaying entries in this popular annual event, which offers more than $1500 in cash prizes. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Clovely Estate, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Kilkivan Great Horse Ride
- The first day of the three day 2024 Kilkivan Great Horse Ride will get underway at 1:30pm this afternoon with a briefing for riders taking part in the Mudlo Trail Ride at the ride's muster point, after which the ride will get underway at 2:00pm. Meanwhile - back at the Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road in Kilkivan there'll be bush poetry readings in the Campdraft Bar from 4:00pm, followed by a Youth Talent Quest on the main stage that will run from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The Campdraft Bar itself will be open from 2:00pm to 9:00pm and there'll be wine tastings in the evening. The Art Of Marketing - Nanango & Blackbutt
- The South Burnett Regional Council will be running a free Art Of Marketing - Getting Social workshop at the Nanango Alpha Meeting Room at 40 Drayton Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 11:00am this morning (and again at the Blackbutt Library at 40 Hart Street, Blackbutt from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon). The workshop is aimed at not-for-profit organisations, clubs and groups to assist with their marketing and online presence, including ideas and tips on how to make the most of the marketing tools available. Bookings are essential to help plan the seating, though, and tickets can be booked online here (for the Nanango session) or booked here (for the Blackbutt session)
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
- The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 Macalister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
