Hivesville Country Markets
- The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Hivesville Devonshire Teas
- Hivesville's QCWA are celebrating their 101st birthday this year, and the branch will be opening the doors at their rooms in Main Street from 7:00am to noon this morning to offer visitors Devonshire Teas and boutique-style coffee plus plants, crafts and general bric-a-brac items - the perfect complement to the Hivesville Markets just across the road. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a delicious morning tea and/or browse for a bargain.
Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster - Boondooma
- The sixth (and final) day of the 2024 Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (more than 20 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers and in addition to lots of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, and displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Admission to today's Muster is $16.67 (bring cash - there's no EFTPOS on site). Bush camping is also available and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. Mothers Day Morning Tea - Wooroolin
- A $15 per head Mothers Day Morning Tea will be held at Wooroolin Memorial Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin this morning. The event is being run by Wooroolin QCWA and doors will open at 10:00am. Guests will get to enjoy a delicious selection of sweet and savoury foods, endless tea and coffee, plus a Lucky Door prize and 5 tickets in a rolling raffle. Autumn Car Boot Sale - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt Tennis Club will be running an Autumn Car Boot Sale at the Blackbutt Tennis Courts in Hart Street from 8:00am this morning. Car boot, ute, trailer or stall fees are $10 and proceeds will go to assist the tennis club. Everyone is welcome!
Bunya Mountains Markets
- The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Kilkivan Railway Markets
- The monthly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy

Kingaroy Eisteddfod
- The second day of the 2024 Kingaroy Eisteddfod will be held at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 10:45am onwards this morning. Today competitors in the group dancing session will compete for line honours before the venue swaps to Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street tomorrow. Spectators are very welcome, and a nominal admission fee applies.
Goomeri Men's Open

- Entertainer Shanleigh Rose will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 11:00am to around 3:00pm this afternoon. Weeding Bee - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy branch of Native Plants Queensland will be holding a weeding bee at the Carroll Nature Reserve in Coral Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to 12:30pm today to mark World Earth Day. Participants should bring drinking water, morning tea and lunch (if staying for lunch), a folding chair, personal protective equipment such as gloves and safety glasses, and wear suitable clothing and footwear such as a hat, a long sleeved shirt, full length trousers and stout shoes or boots. Workers are also encouraged to bring their own weeding tools, such as trowels, secateurs and mattocks. Buckets and fertilizer bags are useful for seed and bulb removal. More details? Manumbar Campdraft
- The second day of the three-day 62nd Annual Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdraft Grounds at 3896 Manumbar Road today, kicking off at 6:00am this morning with a Restricted Open Draft, followed by the John Smith Memorial Open Draft, the Norm-Gloria Franz Memorial Junior Draft and wrapping up with the Douglas Porter Memorial Junior Draft which will run until dusk. Free in-site camping is available if you want to stay over, and takeaway meals are available too if hunger strikes. Admission to the campdraft is 100% free for spectators and everyone is welcome. Sunday Sesh Open Mic Afternoon - Nanango
- The Commercial Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango will be hosting an Open Mic Afternoon from 1:00pm to around 5:00pm today, led by Sonia McMahon from Rufus Jack. Sunday Roast Lunch - Wondai
- Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai (opposite the Wondai Regional Art Gallery) will be hosting a $20 per head BYO Sunday roast lunch from 12:00 noon today featuring roast pork and vegetables (ie roast potatoes, roast pumpkin, cauliflower in cheese sauce, carrots and peas) with apple sauce and gravy followed by individual tropical pavlova, tea and coffee. Kumbia Museum
- The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Sunday Rugby League - Cherbourg
- Women's rugby league fans should head to Jack O'Chin Oval in Broadway Street, Cherbourg this afternoon when the Cherbourg Hornettes test their mettle against Fraser Coast at 2:00pm. Today's clash will be the first local game this season for our region's female league sides (Wondai played Bundaberg at Eidsvold yesterday) and if last year's debut efforts are anything to go by, this should be a pretty good game. A canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome.
