2024 Nanango ShowThe second (and main) day of the 115th Annual Nanango Show will get underway at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango at 7:00am this morning with Prime Cattle judging, followed at 8:00am with horse ring events before Stud Cattle, Led Steers and Dogs are judged at 8:30am. The sideshows, pavilions and barrel racing in the main arena will all open at 9:00am, and woodchops will begin at 9:30am. The Show's official opening will take place at 1:30pm and it will be followed by a Bull Ride in the Len Bochmann Arena from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, then chainsawing and block splitting plus a presentation of the 115th Nanango Show Horse Trophy. At 6:00pm, the finals of the day's trotting races will be run, and this will be followed by the Flux Pyrotechnic Display (ie fireworks) at 8:00pm, then live entertainment from country singer Vanessa Sanger from 8:15pm until late. Admission to today's show is just $20 for adults, $15 for concessions or $40 for a family of four, but children 12 and under can get in for free if accompanied by a paying adult. Everyone is welcome!
Dance - Inverlaw Hall
- A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied by Mystique and there'll be the usual supper and novelty dances, along with a Lucky Door draw and a raffle. Kinsey Rose, Lindsay Waddington & Lloyd Back - Nanango
- USA country music star Kinsey Rose will be performing with Award-winning Australian country music legends Lindsay Waddington and Lloyd Back at The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to Scott Car Park) from 1:00pm until late this afternoon. Myles Dunn - Linville
- Entertainer Myles Dunn will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 4:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight. South Burnett Speedway - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Speedway will roar into life at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy tonight with its final meeting of the season - the annual April Madness - featuring the Modified Sedans, Production Sedans, Late Models and the AMCA Nationals. There'll be canteen facilities operating onsite, and campsites are available in the Showgrounds if you want to stay over. Gates will open at 2:00pm, racing will start at 4:00pm and the excitement will continue until around 10:30pm tonight. Admission is $30 for adults, $20 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners or $85 for a family of two adults and two students (children 12 and under are free). Everyone is welcome!

Wooroolin Community Markets
- The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Yarraman Markets
- The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and they feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. Come & Try Dragon Boat Racing - BP Dam
- The Barambah Dragons dragon boat teams will be inviting people to try out the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing at Bjelke-Petersen Dam from 8:30am (for a 9:00am paddle-off) this morning. Paddles and gear will be supplied but participants should wear closed shoes that can tolerate getting wet and bring along sunscreen, water, a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. South Burnett Saints 2024 Season Launch
- The South Burnett Saints AFL team will be launching their 2024 season from 5:30pm onwards this evening with a dinner at the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy. However bookings for this smart casual two-course dinner closed on March 30, so if you're attending without a booking you'll be limited to the bar. Apart from the dinner, the night will also feature the presentation of jerseys to this year's players, raffles, and socialising with club members and sponsors.
Trivia Night - Wondai
