Campdraft fans who have been starved of action this year turned out in force for Saturday’s Cooyar Campdraft.
They enjoyed some good contests in all divisions.
Local families supplied the cattle, which have been in short supply on the circuit.
The drought has really thrown this year’s local campdraft program into disarray.
The Goomeri Campdraft, which was also to have been held at the weekend, was postponed to a date to be fixed.
Next weekend’s planned Kumbia Charity Campdraft has been cancelled and the Proston Golden Spurs postponed.
The Manumbar (April 26-27) and Widgee (May 2-4) campdrafts have been cancelled.
Kilkivan (May 10-11) has been postponed to a date to be fixed but Nanango is still scheduled to go ahead on May 24-25.
Earlier this year, the Burrandowan and Cooranga drafts were both cancelled but slightly further away, Toogoolawah and Brymaroo went ahead.
UPDATE: Because of the drought conditions, the Nanango Campdraft has been postponed to a date to be fixed.
