Nanango Races
The Nanango Racing Club will be kicking off 2012 with their popular annual Pretty In Pink meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 1:30pm until around 4:30pm this afternoon. Today's meeting will have a "Pretty In Pink" theme and everyone is encouraged to either dress up in pink or wear something pink. The meeting will be a 5-event programme and special highlights include a Fashions of The Field competition with great prizes for the best dressed ladies, gents and children wearing pink. The club's popular Pink Champagne bar will be running all day too and there'll also be a licensed bar and BBQ; bookmakers and an on-course tote, plus a few other tasty surprises! A free Bellingham's courtesy bus will be leaving the Glendon Street Bus Depot opposite the Town Hall in Kingaroy at 12:00 noon for Kingaroy patrons; and the Nanango bus will be leaving the Nanango RSL in Henry Street at 12:30pm to take attendees to the track. Pursers Coaches will also be running a free bus from the Murgon RSL in Lamb Street at 11:30am which will also pick up patrons from outside the Wondai Visitor Information Centre at 11:45am; and Gillilands Coaches in Blackbutt will be picking up patrons outside the Blackbutt Visitor Information Centre in Hart Street at 12:00 noon and the Yarraman Post Office at 12:15pm. Gates will open at the track itself at around 12:00 noon so go-getters can get a head start on socialising. Children's Art Workshops - Kingaroy and Wondai
The Kingaroy Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy and the Wondai Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be running two special, free "Drawing Life For Kids" art workshops from 10:00am to 12:30pm this morning (in Kingaroy) and 10:00am to 2:00pm in Wiondai. The workshops are being jointly run by the South Burnett Regional Council and the Brisbane's Gallery Of Modern Art as a school holiday activity for children aged between 5 and 12. Participants receive a drawing journal and a pack of coloured pencils to keep, and they'll participate in 18 fun drawing activities that have been tried and tested by kids, for kids. Seafood Buffet - Murgon

The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Yarraman Markets - Yarraman
- The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held at Errol Munt Oval in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and an under-cover play area for children.
