An inquest has been scheduled to be held in Kingaroy from September 21-24 to investigate the death of man during a siege at a home in the South Burnett in 2021.
The man, who has been named by the pseudonym “SD” in court listings, was found dead after police entered the building after there had been no response from him for some time.
The incident began in the early hours of June 12, 2021.
The inquest, at the direction of State Coroner Terry Ryan, will determine what caused the man’s death, as well considering the actions of the police officers involved.
It will also consider whether there are any recommendations which could be made which could prevent deaths from happening in similar circumstances in the future.
