A man who broke into a South Burnett Regional Council depot in January 2024 and stole a Nissan Navara – which was later torched – has been jailed by a Bundaberg court.
The incident in the South Burnett was part of a much larger crime spree which extended to Bundaberg and included arson, several break-ins, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, receiving tainted property, dangerous driving and domestic violence offences.
James Ian Warren, 42, pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared for sentencing in the Bundaberg District Court on Tuesday.
Judge Allen KC sentenced Warren to a total of seven years and six months in jail.
Taking into account time already served in custody, Warren will be eligible to seek parole in September.
