Western Downs Regional Council’s annual celebration of everything to do with books, “Words Out West”, will be returning in June with a string of events.
The weeks-long celebration will culminate with a special Writer’s Retreat at “Godshill” on the Bunya Mountains on Saturday, June 20.
This is the seventh year the WDRC has organised the festival for readers and writers but this year it has moved into a different timeslot.
A Council spokesperson said shifting the event to June would allow bibliophiles to indulge in the cosy winter pastime: stay indoors, keep warm with a cuppa, and be inspired by some of their favourite authors.
“Words Out West is about inspiring creativity and building meaningful connection within our community,” Mayor Andrew Smith said.
Tickets for the various Words Out West can be booked online.
