The Murgon Independent Lifestyle Project – a much-discussed plan to create disability housing in Perkins Street, Murgon – has moved a step closer.
Public fundraising for the project has been under way in Murgon for at least three years.
At an SBRC meeting in December 2023, Councillors voted unanimously to give Murgon Independent Lifestyle Project Inc an initial three-year lease over the southern end of McMahon Park so the group could seek funding to begin construction on the site.
The proposed development would consist of 12 units plus a manager’s residence.
Council will now consider the Development Application by the not-for-profit group after the public notification period closed on March 26.
