Patterson Braithwaite dives to score for the Eagles against Dalby at Fred Kassulke Oval

The South Burnett Eagles U16s put in a strong performance against Dalby at the Nanango Stags’ recent big day of pre-season rugby league.

The Eagles led 22-4 at half-time before pulling away to a 38-4 victory.

Tries were scored by Dallas Cooper (3), Jed Ninness, Patterson Braithwaite, Robbie Ashcroft and James Meagher while Tyler Fuller-Sandys kicked five conversions.

In the main game, the Nanango Stags A Graders suffered a narrow loss to the Kilcoy Yowies, 30–28.

The Nanango Stags will be hosting a fundraising golf day for the club on Saturday (March 28).

The two-person 18-hole ambrose at the Nanango Golf Club will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00am. Cost is $30 for adults or $15 for juniors (including a free hamburger).

There’ll be prizes and raffles, and players, supporters and all community members are welcome!

On Tuesday (March 31), the Stags will be holding their annual community Easter Egg hunt at Fred Kassulke Oval.

The fun and games will get under way at 4:00pm.

There will also be a sausage sizzle and drinks available to buy.

The South Burnett Rugby League has confirmed will there will be an Under 15s Eagles team competing in the Toowoomba Junior Rugby League competition this year.

They will join South Burnett Under 16 and Under 15/16 Development Cup teams in the Toowoomba JRL  competition, although no draw has yet been released.

The South Burnett draw is also in the final stages of preparation; the senior season is due to kick off on April 18.
