South Burnett and Gympie farmers affected by the recent flash floods have been invited to attend meetings which could assist them.

On Friday (March 27), a Disaster Recovery information evening will be held at the Booubyjan Hall, off the Burnett Highway at Booubyjan.

Residents have been invited to drop in at any time between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

There’ll be representatives from many organisations in attendance – including Rural Aid, QRIDA, the DPI, Centrelink, AgForce and the Rural Financial Counselling Service – to answer questions and provide helpful information.

There’ll also be a free barbecue and refreshments.

On Saturday (March 28), farmers who would like some help to clear or repair their fences have been invited to visit the Murgon Men’s Shed, at 75 Macalister Street, from 6:00pm.

Property registrations will be passed on to BlazeAid which will supply volunteers to help with repairs.

There will also be a free sausage sizzle.
