Police have charged three teenage boys following investigations into incidents in Murgon and Kingaroy on Sunday morning.

About 1:30am on Sunday, an unknown number of people allegedly entered the South Burnett Regional Council depot in Macalister Street, Murgon, and stole three vehicles.

Police will allege the stolen vehicles were used in other incidents later that morning, including the theft of two dirt bikes  – a trail bike and a child’s pee-wee motorbike –from Banksia Drive, Kingaroy, about 3:15am; and the theft of a Holden Commodore from First Avenue.

A 15-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with three counts of unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, two counts of entering premises to commit an indictable offence and one count of attempt to enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence. He is due to appear in Murgon Children’s Court on April 21.

Another 15-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with one count each of entering premises to commit an indictable offence, hooning and driving without a licence. He has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

A 14-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and hooning. He is due to appear in Murgon Children’s Court on March 31.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
