The Tarong West Wind Farm has partnered with the South Burnett Pantry to support the charity’s sustainability project.
A RES spokesperson said it was a commitment to keep emergency food relief flowing, volunteers resourced, families supported; a practical, long-term investment in the wellbeing of the region.
The South Burnett Pantry has spent years delivering food relief with dignity to local residents.
Last year alone, it supported 15,090 people, including 6067 children.
Behind every “customer”, is a household: a single parent juggling bills, a couple suddenly out of work, a family thrown into crisis.
In 2025, 344 new households reached out for help for the first time, more than 80 per cent of them reliant on Centrelink to get by.
“Community support needs to be practical and respond to what matters most locally,” Tarong West lead project manager Toby Coates said.
“The South Burnett Pantry plays an essential role in supporting families across the region, and we are proud to back an organisation making a real difference on the ground. Large projects should leave a positive local legacy, and supporting trusted local organisations is one of the most meaningful ways we can contribute.”
Footnote: The Pantry plans to open a site in Murgon in April.
