The South Burnett Community Orchestra Association Inc has been allocated a $50,000 grant from the State Government’s Regional Community Arts Program.
The orchestra – a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to the development of the musical skills of its members – is one of 29 Queensland organisations, groups and projects which will share in more than $1.5 million funding under the program.
The SBCO’s grant is two-year core funding.
The Somerset Art Society Inc will receive project funding of $20,000.
The “New Horizons at The Condensery” project aims to provide artists and artworkers a professional development and exhibition opportunity through educational programs, mentorships and guided development.
The successful grant applicants were announced on Friday.
