Kingaroy-based business Fempro Armour has received a $75,000 grant from the State Government’s Ignite Spark Program.

The program provides support for businesses to develop new products or services and prepare them for customer trials. It helps early-stage companies accelerate development, scale their ideas, and bring cutting-edge solutions to market.

Member for Nanango, Deb Frecklington said the funding demonstrated the State Government’s commitment to supporting regional innovators.

Fempro Armour founder Stephanie Bofinger has developed a world-first prototype for cricket protective gear designed specifically for women.

“Innovation can be a tough space for early-stage businesses, and this funding helps bridge the gap by giving them the resources to keep moving forward,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“By accelerating the journey from prototype to market-ready product, we’re helping local businesses grow, compete, and reach new markets. This support leads to new jobs, stronger industries, and more opportunities right across Queensland.”

A total of 17 businesses in Queensland have been supported in the latest round of Ignite Spark Program grants.
