South Burnett Regional Councils plans to add a flying fox to the existing play equipment in First Settlers’ Memorial Park at Benarkin.
Work to install the flying fox and woodchip softfall is scheduled to begin early next month.
The area will be fenced off during construction.
“I would like to acknowledge the residents of Benarkin for their commitment and advocacy for this activity in the playground area,” Cr Linda Little said.
“They have waited a long time for this piece of equipment for the youth of Benarkin and Blackbutt.
“I know that the youth are eagerly awaiting the completion of this flying fox.”
Funding for this project had come from the SBRC’s capital works program.
It is expected that works will be completed by Easter, weather permitting.
