Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with attempted armed robbery after an elderly man was bashed in his Murgon home on Monday.
Police will allege that about 4:30am, the boy and two other unknown people entered a property on Lamb Street.
They allegedly threatened an elderly couple with a knife before demanding the couple’s car keys.
It is then alleged the man was struck with piece of wood before the trio fled along Watt Street.
The 84-year-old man suffered injuries to his head, legs and arms and was transported by ambulance to Murgon Hospital for treatment.
The 76-year-old woman was not physically injured.
A 14-year-old Kallangur boy has been charged with enter dwelling with intent by break at night while armed, attempted armed robbery, attempted enter dwelling, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and possess property suspect of being stolen and stealing.
He was due to appear in Murgon Children’s Court on Tuesday.
