Police are investigating how a ute ended up in Bjelke-Petersen Dam after running off the Burnett Highway on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called about 8:40pm to the incident, about 30km north of Nanango.
A police spokesperson said initial investigations indicated the white Toyota Hilux utility was driving along the highway before it left the road, travelled a short distance and ended up submerged in the dam.
Police were told the male driver left the scene.
They searched the area and located a 37-year-old man walking a short distance away.
He was transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries.
The man is now assisting police with their inquiries and investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
