Golding Contractors Pty Ltd have been selected as the successful tenderer to operate the Meandu coal mine from July 1.
Stanwell Corporation announced the outcome of its market tender process for the Mining Services Agreement on Monday.
Golding was selected after a tender process conducted between July and December last year.
The current agreement, which was awarded to Downer in 2020 and transferred to BUMA Australia in 2021, will conclude on June 30.
The $750 million contract consists of a six-month mobilisation phase followed by a five-year operational phase.
It also provides for employment for about 400 personnel living in the local region.
Stanwell Acting CEO James Oliver said the tender process was designed to ensure the best long-term outcomes for the mine, the Tarong power stations and the South Burnett community.
“Meandu Mine plays a critical role in supplying coal to our Tarong power stations, and we remain committed to maintaining safe, reliable operations and supporting local employment and businesses,” Mr Oliver said.
“We thank BUMA Australia for their service over the past five years and acknowledge their contribution to the region. We will continue to work with BUMA and Golding as the new contractor as we transition to the new agreement.”
Golding is a subsidiary of Perth-based NRW Holdings.

Stanwell will now begin a six-month transition and mobilisation period with the incoming contractor to ensure continuity of operations and minimal disruption to the workforce and community.
Stanwell will maintain ownership and strategic control over mine planning and equipment, partnering with Golding to deliver operational services.
Meandu will continue to supply coal to the Tarong power stations through to at least 2035.
