Former AgForce Qld chief executive officer Mike Guerin will take over as CEO of the National Farmers’ Federation on March 23.

NFF president Hamish McIntyre welcomed the appointment, saying Mr Guerin had proven leadership capabilities and was passionate about ag advocacy.

Mr Guerin is currently acting CEO of NSW Farmers.

Prior to his AgForce role – which he filled for eight years – Mr Guerin was managing director of Elders Rural Services.

“The NFF is agriculture’s peak national body and I am truly humbled to be selected as its chief executive,” Mr Guerin said.

“I’m looking forward to taking a national lens to the agricultural issues I’ve rallied for on behalf of Queensland and NSW.

“I’m especially looking forward to making inroads in the member advocacy space, an issue I am very familiar with.

“There is plenty of work to be done and I’m excited to dig in.”
