The 55 Million Years Ago art gallery and museum in Murgon opened its last exhibition for the year on Saturday.

The walls of the gallery are filled with local artworks, craft and photography available for sale.

The opening featured the now-traditional “Elegant Afternoon Tea” which features the best china and an opportunity to dress up!

Other recent activities at 55MYA include special holiday workshops to create beaded Christmas trees.

The gallery and museum is open daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm, except Christmas Day.

Hard at work at the front desk were volunteers Ashley Rewald and Gael Kennett
Murgon residents Barbara Hartmann-King, Gloria Berry and Doug Johnson were checking out the artworks on display
The art gallery (and this striking horse) is situated alongside the amazing, interactive fossil museum
