Time is running out to donate items for the annual South Burnett Christmas Hamper Drive to help local families in need.
Donations are being accepted at the drop-off points until next Friday (December 12):
- Bill Hull Car Centre and Ken Mills Toyota, Kingaroy
- Kingaroy Mall (near Woolworths)
- Any South Burnett CTC office (Murgon, Wondai, Kingaroy and Nanango)
- Heritage Bank in Kingaroy and Nanango
- Wondai Post Office
- The Phat Wag (Murgon)
A CTC spokesperson also thanked the Wheatlands, Kingaroy and Coolabunia State Schools which had collected donations, the Phat Wag which donated a Wagyu beast (processed into mince and sausages); and Swickers for donating 150 pork shoulder roasts.
Other support has come from Tarong Power Stations, BUMA, Prices Plus, the Wondai Post Office and Bunnings.
The Christmas Hamper Drive began in 2018 when Jacqui Trace from Bill Hull Car Centre rallied the community to help CTC assemble 80 hampers for local families in need.
Since then, the campaign – and the community need – has grown each year.
All donations will be distributed in the South Burnett.
The spokesperson said CTC worked with Centacare, Graham House and Eva’s Place to identify people who have engaged with services throughout the year and who have worked hard to regain stability during challenging times.
You can support the hamper drive by donating in-date, unopened pantry items into a donation point; donating cash online; or donating your Containers For Change refunds to CTC (code C10233869) .
