Four outstanding Cherbourg uni students were welcomed to State Parliament recently by Attorney-General and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.
Mrs Frecklington said Sienna Murray, Mia Sandow, Katie Langton and Jennakye Simpson were leading by example, showing what can be achieved through education, determination and vision.
“These students are a powerful reminder of the talent and potential within our regional communities,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“By pursuing higher education and stepping into leadership roles, they are inspiring others in Cherbourg to see what’s possible.
“I want to thank Premier Crisafulli for taking the time to speak with the students and encourage them on their journey as emerging leaders. It was also wonderful to have Mayor Bruce Simpson join us for this special occasion.”
The visit gave the students an opportunity to see firsthand how decisions are made that shape the future of the community.
Jennakye has also been selected to take part in the Eric Deeral Youth Parliament, a leadership and professional development program for First Nations people aged 18-25.
