South Burnett CTC chief executive officer Jason Erbacher was elected unopposed as president of the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the AGM held on Tuesday evening.

This followed the announcement by Damien Martoo earlier this year that he would not be recontesting the position but hoped to remain on the management committee.

Mr Martoo has been Chamber president since 2019.

During his President’s Report, Mr Martoo reflected on the achievements of the Chamber over the past 12 months, including the introduction of the WAVE system to handle membership invoices and Hub bookings; the two-year renewal of the lease on the Business Hub building; 144 SMILE counselling sessions at no cost to members; the distribution of the business suppliers catalogue to various infrastructure projects; and running the BaconFest window competition.

Mr Martoo thanked his Executive Committee members for all their hard work.

The AGM was chaired by Darren Schmidt, from St John’s Lutheran School.

Elected or re-elected to the management committee unopposed were Damien Martoo (Martoo Meats), Jacqui Trace, Paula Greenwood (PG Mobile Bookkeeping), Susan Robertson (Kingaroy Office Central), Jason Erbacher (South Burnett CTC), Daniel Pelcl (Burnett Today), Mitch Gray (AMG Electrical Solutions), Sheena Lindholm (Push Pull Marketing), Allan Christensen (ATC Engineers and Project Managers), Rhianna Fazldeen (Kingaroy Holiday Park) and Jessica Sarquis.

Elected president was Jason Erbacher, vice-president Mitch Gray, secretary Jessica Sarquis and treasurer Paula Greenwood.

Damien Martoo, who has been president of the KCCI since 2019, has resigned from that role but will remain on the management committee
