Kingaroy Rotary Club’s Geoff Hosking and his partner Dianne Kowalski unveiled the new seat on Tuesday morning

November 25, 2025

When Kingaroy resident Dianne Kowalski dropped off her partner Geoff recently at the Glendon Street bus stop, she noticed the number of people standing on the footpath.

The one bench seat at the bus stop was obviously not enough!

Dianne raised the problem with her friends at the Kingaroy Rotary Club, who sprang into action.

Kingaroy Rotary immediate past president Mark Huston said the club realised supplying a second seat would be a good idea, so approached the South Burnett Regional Council for permission.

The cost was $2500 which was covered by the club.

The new seat was officially unveiled on Tuesday morning.

Mr Huston thanked Council for giving the club the opportunity to do something for the community.
