Applications are now open for Round 2 of the State Government’s Secure Communities Partnership Program.
Small and family business owners who have been hit by crime in the past three years can apply for grants of between $5000 and $20,000 to fund safety upgrades such as alarm systems, surveillance cameras and digital access control systems.
“This program is about giving small and family businesses the tools they need to protect themselves,” Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said.
“We know the impact crime has had on local businesses, and this funding will help restore confidence and safety.”
In Round 1, Queensland councils – including the South Burnett Regional Council – received a total of $9.6 million to implement crime prevention measures in business precincts.
Applications close on January 30, unless the funding is exhausted earlier.
