A man aged in his 30s died in a collision involving two cars and a truck on the Brisbane Valley Highway south of Fernvale on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Harris and Millar roads at Fairney View at 1:41pm.

A police spokesperson said the driver and sole occupant of a ute died at the scene.

A woman in her 60s, who had been driving an SUV, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with potentially life-threatening pelvic injuries.

The truck driver, a man in his 40s, suffered a minor hand injury but declined transport to hospital.

The collision blocked the highway, with diversions put in place.

Anyone with relevant dashcam vision of the vehicles prior to the crash has been urged to contact police.
