Young Bundaberg racer Kurtis Peall took out the Queensland Production Sedan title in a dramatic final raced at the Kingaroy Speedway on Saturday night.

The weather caused confusion initially before the 40-lap feature race finally managed to get under way.

Peall was second to the chequered flag behind veteran Joel Berkley but Berkley’s vehicle failed post-race scrutineering and was disqualified.

In second place was 2024-25 National Production Sedan champion and 2024 Queensland title holder Josh Harm followed by fellow South Burnett driver Pacey Clegg.

Another South Burnett driver, Brett Barron, recorded the fastest lap time, 16.856.

Earlier, Berkley took out the 20-lap A Main of the “Prelude To The Royal” Modifieds contest ahead of Nathan Macdonald and Shane Macdonald.

The evening did not end well for one driver, who was taken to Kingaroy Hospital by ambulance in a stable condition with pelvic and leg injuries after hitting a barrier.
