Kingaroy’s annual Postie Bike Ride – a four-day Movember fundraiser – hit the streets again on Wednesday.
The nine riders, all current or former firefighters, hope to raise $8000 for the men’s health charity.
They will be raising funds along the way and also raffling hams donated by Swickers.
This is the seventh year that firies and ex-firies have banded together to raise funds for Movember via the Postie Bike Run.
The riders, many growing moustaches for the month, are all on bright red “postie bikes”, ie. 110cc Hondas
They were escorted out of Kingaroy Fire Station with the brigade’s latest appliance leading the way with the historic 1960 International Kingaroy fire engine bringing up the rear.
Kingaroy firefighter Cam Fiedler said the group were heading to Clifton for their first stopover, then Killarney via Tenterfield, Yarraman and back to Kingaroy.
Two support vehicles will be accompanying them on their ride.
