South Burnett Online founder Dafyd Martindale is to be remembered with a special bench, donated by the South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association.
Dafyd was the inaugural president of the association which was formed to promote usage of the trail and its tourism benefits for the South Burnett region.
The bench, which echoes a penny farthing bicycle, is being made by the Wondai Men’s Shed and will be located in Wondai’s Coronation Park when it is completed.
South Burnett Regional Council passed a motion to agree to the installation of the commemorative bench at its October meeting.
Dafyd died in September last year.
The bench will recognise his passion for the South Burnett, which included his support for the arts, local events and tourism.
