The 2025 Dead Cow Gully Backyard Ultra Marathon winner, Phil Gore, has won the Backyard Ultra World Championship in Tennessee.
The West Australian runner completed 114 loops of the 6.7km course on Thursday, after five days of competition.
In June, Gore completed 119 loops of the Dead Cow Gully event, near Nanango, setting a new world record.
Backyard Ultra events are a test of endurance.
Each runner has 60 minutes to complete a loop or be eliminated.
There is only a short rest period between each loop (or “yard” in Backyard Ultra vernacular).
The loops are always 6.7km – which means the runners complete 100 miles every 24 hours wherever they are competing in the world.
