South Burnett’s 2025 Relay For Life fundraising campaign for Cancer Council Queensland will culminate on Saturday with the annual relay walk at T.J. O’Neill Oval in Kingaroy.

The opening ceremony will start at 2:00pm followed by the traditional Survivors Walk around the oval.

There will also be lots of live music to encourage the walkers to keep on going.

The candlelight ceremony, which honours friends and relatives who have succumbed to cancer, will be held at 6:30pm followed by the closing ceremony at 10:00pm.

The annual walk tops off months of fundraising in the local community, with key events including the Dinner With The Champions in July and the Relay For Life launch breakfast in May.

But one of the biggest fundraisers this year must be the Ride 4 Relay and Cattle 4 A Cure auction which raised an incredible $51,205.

Everyone is welcome to come along on Saturday to cheer the walkers on and enjoy the free entertainment and there’s no admission (although donations for the Relay would be appreciated!).

Donations can also still be made online

The 2025 Ride 4 Relay cyclists head into Wondai Sportsground last month, led by ride organiser Jason Wyeth from the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club
