An art exhibition with a difference was officially opened at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on Tuesday.

The exhibition, by six members of South Burnett Care’s Fine Art Group, has taken over The Studio space at the gallery.

Gallery co-ordinator Elaine Madill made the area available after SB Care approached the gallery about hosting an exhibition.

All the other gallery spaces at Wondai were booked out months in advance but The Studio proved to be the perfect spot to show off the works.

The Fine Art Group members worked with professional artist Jenny Gemmell over six weeks to produce a series of works on the theme of “Safari”.

“They were the most delightful people to work with,” Jenny said.

“I am thrilled to bits with what they have done.”

The exhibition was officially opened by South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff with help from the budding artists.

Elaine was impressed with the works and said she would like to make the exhibition an annual event.
