The South Burnett’s annual school formal season took off with a rush on Friday night with a glittering celebration in Nanango.
The big night for Nanango State High School’s Year 12s was held in the school’s large assembly hall.
As the sun slowly set behind them, students were dropped off at the foot of a red carpet lined with relatives, friends and fellow students.
They arrived in an array of vehicles, including prime movers, 4WDs, classic Holdens and Falcons, a stretch limo, a Lotus … and a very groovy 60s-style Kombi van covered in painted flowers and peace signs.
There were even motorcycle escorts!
