A search was under way at Boondooma Dam on Thursday afternoon for a man who went missing after an apparent boating mishap.
Police and emergency services began the search and rescue operation after a boat was located abandoned at the dam on Thursday morning.
The inflatable dinghy was located with its motor still running close to the shoreline about 9:15am.
Police and SES, with assistance from dam management and the public, commenced a search of the dam and surrounding area.
A helicopter has been brought in to join the search.
The man is believed to have been at the dam with friends and family members.
No further information is available at this time.
At 8:30pm on Thursday night, a police spokesperson said the search had been suspended with it due to resume at dawn.
