UPDATE: THIS WARNING HAS NOW BEEN LIFTED BUT A BOIL WATER ALERT IS IN PLACE
South Burnett Regional Council issued an alert at 11:00am on Thursday to Blackbutt residents: Do not drink the tap water!
The Council advised all Blackbutt residents not to consume tap water “following a loss of supply at the Blackbutt Reservoirs resulting in significant discolouration”.
“This precautionary measure and alert apply to all residents connected to the Blackbutt Potable Water Supply declared area, until supply is restored,” a Council spokesperson said.
“Council is currently working to restore supply to Blackbutt and will provide further advice and updates later today.
“Residents are requested to share this alert with neighbours and friends.
“Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and would encourage residents to report discoloured water by contacting Council on (07) 4189-9100 or by email“
