South Burnett Saints dominated the Goondiwindi Hawks in Kingaroy on Saturday

South Burnett Saints’ men notched up their third win in a row in the Darling Downs AFL competition at the weekend.

The Saints dominated the Goondiwindi Hawks at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

When the full-time siren sounded, the home team was ahead 15.16-106 to 4.7-31.

Saints’ players shared the goal-kicking glory: Craig Paterson (3), Fletcher Brown (2), Jack Mines (2), Bennett Sharpe, Corey Smith, Jake Larsen, James Packer, Keegan Wright, Kelly Salmon, Nathan Trace and Ryan Jacobs.

Earlier in the day, the Saints’ U13.5 juniors also recorded a big win over Goondwindi: 25.13-163 to 2.2-14.

Saints’ goals were kicked by Ezra Salmon (5), William Dickfos (4), Evan Freeman (4), Hayden McCrea (3), Finlay Chapman (3), Roman Rose, Max Curtis, Jack Lynch, Deegan Johannessen, Danielle Alberts and Alex Lloyd.

Unfortunately, the Hawks’ women’s side forfeited to the Saints, although the South Burnett women took to the field in a scratch match.

The women will be in action next Saturday (May 31) against Coolaroo in Toowoomba.

The U13.5 and men’s teams have a week off, before playing the Tigers in Toowoomba on June 7.
