The 2025 Goomeri Show was sizzling on Saturday, and we’re not just talking about the weather!

“It was probably one of the best shows we’ve had for a long time,” Show Society president David Pitstock told southburnett.com.au.

“There was a good amount of people and the Pavilion was chock-a-block full which we haven’t had for a few years now.”

David said the number of horse entries was up and the cattle and dog sections were also good.

A new section this year was the Truck Show which proved to be very popular.

The show was officially opened by Member for Nanango, Attorney-General Deb Frecklington.

Local Gympie councillor Warren McEwan presented Life Membership pins to show stalwarts David and Archie Pointon during the opening ceremony.

David said Saturday evening finished with the Farmer’s Challenge, which was popular with the children, and then fireworks.

A special guest at the show this year was ABC-TV Muster Dogs winners Frank Finger and “Annie”, from Clermont.

Frank and his beloved kelpie, sponsored by Nedloh Rural, chatted with visitors but also put on a show for the crowd during the afternoon.
