As part of my election commitment, I’m excited to share that the Wooroolin Skate Park is set to become a reality!
I’m pleased to be working in partnership with the South Burnett Regional Council to deliver a safe, fun, and inclusive space for the young people of Wooroolin and surrounding areas. Planning is already underway to ensure we select the best location and design to meet the needs of the community.
Together, we’re committed to creating not only a vibrant space for youth but a fantastic community hub for everyone to enjoy. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!

Youth Precinct Officially Opens
It was an honour to officially open the new Youth Precinct in Kingaroy Memorial Park, alongside members of our community.
The day was filled with energy and excitement, with Suncoast Spinners and Kingaroy Basketball Club hosting a fantastic basketball competition on the brand-new all-abilities accessible court. The Ninja Warrior course and beautifully landscaped gardens also proved to be a big hit with visitors of all ages.
I’m incredibly excited that the Queensland Government, in partnership with the South Burnett Regional Council, was able to co-fund this wonderful project—delivering a vibrant, inclusive space that caters to people of all abilities.
This is a fantastic facility for the young people of our region and a great asset for the broader community.

Minister Leahy Visits The South Burnett
As the local member, I was very proud to welcome the Honourable Ann Leahy, Minister for Local Government and Water and Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers, to the South Burnett.
Minister Leahy joined me for a productive working lunch with the South Burnett Regional Council, with catering generously provided by the wonderful Blackbutt/Yarraman QCWA volunteers … as always, the food was absolutely delicious.
We then visited Leo and his team at Cherry Creek Estate where we discussed water access for their avocado orchard and heard about the exciting innovations they have planned for the future.
Cherry Creek Estate is a fantastic local success story, built on mateship and determination, and they’re doing incredible things with their avocados and avocado oil.
It’s inspiring to see such passion and progress in our region.

Kingaroy RSL
I was absolutely delighted to share fantastic news with Rowena and Michael from the Kingaroy RSL that their application for the Queensland Remembers Major Capital Grant was successful!
The club has been awarded an incredible $200,000, the largest grant of its kind in Queensland. This significant funding will go towards a major refurbishment of the club’s kitchen, improving functionality and enhancing the delivery of services for the club’s valued members.
This upgrade will not only modernise the kitchen but also ensure the Kingaroy RSL continues to provide high-quality meals and hospitality for the community. With these improved facilities, the club will be even better equipped to host events, support local initiatives, and create an even more enjoyable experience for all who walk through its doors.
