Police have charged a 32-year-old man who allegedly failed a roadside drug test with six traffic offences after he reportedly drove dangerously on the D’Aguilar Highway on Thursday.
It will be alleged that earlier in the day, the same vehicle was spotted driving on the wrong side of the road on the Bruce Highway.
A police spokesperson said about 3:00pm police received several calls that a vehicle was driving north along the southbound traffic lanes at Elimbah.
Police located the vehicle stopped on the Steve Irwin Way on-ramp however when they tried to intercept it, the driver allegedly drove around police and back on to the highway.
About 5:15pm, police received further calls that the same vehicle had been spotted allegedly driving dangerously on the D’Aguilar Highway at Moore.
Shortly afterwards police saw the vehicle at Yarraman where it is alleged the driver drove back on to the highway before stopping.
Police allege the Kallangur man returned a positive result for methamphetamine during a roadside drug test.
He has been charged with six offences: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected, drug driving, evading police and two counts of driving while unlicensed.
He was due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Friday.
